Lsi Is Good News For Online Marketers

If you've been building or promoting websites for any length of time, you know how important it is to your business to have your website show up near the top of the search engine results page for your keywords. You also know what a chore it can be to achieve and keep those elusive top search engine rankings.

Many marketers succumb to the darkside, resorting to cloaking, keyword stuffing and other such tactics. Although they may enjoy some initial success with these methods, that success won't likely last very long. The search engines are becoming smarter each day in how they rank websites and if you're caught pulling any of these tricks, your sites will probably be dropped immediately.

Even those that practice the normally accepted methods of search engine optimization know how frustrating that task usually is. You optimize your pages with just the right keyword density, bold all the right text, insert keywords in the page title, image alt tags and all the rest of the steps to aim at those top search engine positions. Perhaps after a few weeks, you do start to see positive results and some of your pages are on the first page of the search results.

Then, a few days later, reality sets in. You check your ranking, only to find that after days and days of optimization work and getting tons of quality backlinks, your pages are no longer showing up. Frantically, you check your sites. Yep, they're still there. But they're no longer showing up on that highly coveted first page of the search engines. What happened?

Most likely, you've fallen victim to the latest search engine indexing algorithm change. Just when you're starting to get the results you want, the search engines change the rules and now you're on the outside, looking in.

The Hucksters Killed Your Ranking Position -

Since there are so many people trying to get their sites to the top of the search engines, a great many of them resort to using underhanded methods. Of course, the search engines catch on and remove those unqualified listings. How do they find these bogus listings in the first place? By constantly tweaking and fine tuning their indexing algorithms.

Not too long ago, the search engines evaluated webpages based upon keyword density only. People took advantage and stuffed their pages with keywords. The search engines retaliated by also including the quantity of backlinks a site had. As a result, link farms were born to falsely inflate the number of backlinks to sites. The next move the search engines made was to verify the quality of those links to make sure they were from relevant sites, not just from link farms.

And the fight to achieve search engine rankings goes on and on. Just when you think you have everything just right, the rules change and you have to start all over again. Well, LSI could very well be the good news you've been waiting for.

What is LSI?

LSI, short for Latent Semantic Indexing is the latest technology the search engines are adopting to make intelligent choices about how websites should be ranked. The new LSI algorithms not only look at the normally expected SEO factors, such as keyword density, quality & quantity of backlinks, etc - they also evaluate your website on the basis of content and structure.

LSI uses artificial intelligence to gauge the quality of your content. If it's determined that you have nonsensical, machine generated content, you're history. If you employ bulk internal linking of unrelated pages, you're history.

The new LSI algorithms are designed to weed out those websites that aren't really of good quality - the websites that are specifically designed to fool the search engines with underhanded tactics.

LSI is Good For You -

The LSI algorithms are currently being implemented and will probably become the standard used by all the major search engines for a long time. What this means for you is that if you design your websites to conform to what the LSI algorithms like, your websites should achieve and keep prominent search engine ranking. You'll no longer find it necessary to redesign your websites every couple of months just to please the latest indexing software. Design your sites right and you should be good for a long time.

How To Find Your Cheap Cruise Adventure

Most of us think that cruise lines are way out of our price range. We envision formal dining and entertainment, rich couples drinking expensive champagne and handsomely appointed staterooms that cost thousands of dollars a night. And while there are expensive luxuries offered on cruise voyages, finding a cheap cruise adventure is well within reach of most people. To find a cheap cruise adventure, the first thing that you need to do is shop around. Important considerations such as departure and destination points need to be considered as well.

The best places to start gathering research for a cheap cruise adventure are on the Internet. Check out traveling websites such as Travelocity and Orbitz and the like and start printing out information. Where do you want to go? Alaska or Hawaii? Somewhere more exotic, like South America, or Australia or the Far East? First decide where you want to go and then start pricing different cruise lines. Cruise lines are in the business of taking passengers to wonderful locations, and if they weren't affordable, they'd soon go out of business. Passengers can find luxurious shipboard appointments if they have a bottomless wallet, but so can the average tourist on a budget.

Take, for example a cruise line in the United States. Carnival and Pacific cruise lines offer passenger accommodations at around $200 a night for three to four day journeys to the Bahamas, Baja California and the Caribbean. This 'cheap cruise' fare is not cheap in the sense that you won't be able to access the perks that other passengers are receiving. Far from it. This price includes just as many amenities and perks as any other passenger enjoys. Of course, the longer the journey, the more expensive it can get, but also keep in mind that most passenger voyage tickets include everything from room and board, dining, onboard entertainment, use of fitness rooms, swimming pools and any other activities provided while on board, and even may include tickets to any sightseeing venues off the ship while in certain ports of call. When looking for a cheap cruise ticket, make sure that you know what is included and what isn't in the price of a per person ticket.

No matter which kind of a cheap cruise line ticket you're looking for, remember to read the fine print. Many cruise lines require double occupancy for the prices quoted. Some also require that anyone under the age of 21 must share a room with someone who is at least 21 years of age. Comparison shopping for a cheap cruise line ticket won't take very long, and you'll more than likely be surprised at the number of good deals you can find. Just remember that a cheap cruise doesn't mean that you'll be bunking down in the boiler room. Do be advised however, that the cheaper your ticket, the lower in the ship your room will be located, so keep that in mind when booking rooms. A cheap cruise find is a rewarding payoff to a little homework.
